改進 New Tab 的圖標背景、內容加載和過渡穩定性,減少壁紙切換或窗口尺寸變化時的跳色、閃動和不必要位移。
Features (3)
Added aggregate search for combining 2–10 built-in or custom search sources and opening all results at once. Each aggregate search can have its own trigger word for direct access from the search box, with the same duplicate validation used by existing search sources. Thanks to @Lysand-Shen for the core contribution in PR #59.
Aggregate search results are grouped by default and the tab group is named after the current query; this can be disabled in General settings. Aggregate definitions and the grouping preference are also included in settings sync.
Added Glass Blur, Blocks, and CRT wallpaper effects with independent controls for blur strength, texture, block size, RGB offset, bloom, and screen curvature. Thanks to @JIANG-R98 for the core contribution in PR #58.
Bug Fixes (4)
Added clearer aggregate-search feedback when sources are unavailable, a request is already running, or only some result pages can be opened.
The magnifier button is now disabled while a search tag is active, preventing the scope panel from reopening unnecessarily; interaction returns after the tag is removed.
Refined onboarding by keeping the compatibility tooltip on the first page while showing the same guidance directly on the New Tab slide.
Improved New Tab icon backgrounds, content loading, and transition stability to reduce color shifts, flashes, and unnecessary movement during wallpaper or window-size changes.
New Tab shortcut layout can now adjust items per row, icon size, and spacing independently; both the Appearance panel and Options provide synchronized controls, precise value entry, and reset actions.
Refined extension names across Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese to communicate Lumno’s search, command bar, and New Tab capabilities more clearly.
Bug Fixes (2)
Refined blank-area clicks for New Tab search: clicking the background focuses an empty search field, while populated searches dismiss results, preserve exactly what the user typed, and restore results on refocus; / commands are no longer cleared on blur.
Update notices now appear at most three times per version, avoiding repeated interruptions across New Tab and Overlay.
Added a clearer search-first result mix: exact search stays first, more slots are reserved for search-engine suggestions, and history or bookmarks are less likely to fill the list; while suggestions are loading, both New Tab and Overlay show and highlight the current keyword search first. Related feedback: #52
Added independent shortcut-width controls; shortcut, recent-site, and regular bookmark context menus can now open items in a new tab. Related feedback: #49
New Tab can now hide the Feedback and Appearance buttons independently for a more immersive layout. Related feedback: #57
Bug Fixes (1)
Fixed built-in search-source edits creating duplicate custom entries without taking effect; edited configurations now move correctly into the custom list, and deleting them restores the original built-in configuration. Related feedback: #56
Added a 300–800 font-weight control and an optional seconds display for the New Tab clock, configurable in both the appearance panel and Settings.
Added a right-click action menu for recent-site cards; Settings now uses a slider for visible rows and dynamically reveals related options based on the current selection.
Added guidance for input auto-focus so users who prefer the browser’s native address bar can understand what changes when it is disabled.
Bug Fixes (3)
Improved built-in and local wallpaper loading and switching with targeted local reads, early image decoding, and protection against stale wallpapers during rapid selection.
Unified search-box and results borders with natural result heights across New Tab and the in-page command bar, reducing clipping and layout jumps when scopes or suggestions change.
Fixed current-page site-search matching in the in-page command bar so search-engine domains and similar subdomains are not mistaken for site-specific scopes.
Increased the New Tab shortcut limit from 20 to 60. Shortcut sync is now byte-budgeted to preserve capacity for critical settings; shortcuts beyond the sync capacity remain available on this device with a top-of-page notice. #48
Clarified Appearance theme settings by separating “Follow system” from webpage color adaptation and hiding the webpage adaptation control when Light or Dark mode is selected manually.
Bug Fixes (6)
The Command Bar can now open immediately while a page is loading, navigating repeatedly, or replacing its Document, while preserving the draft, selection, and focus. Custom shortcuts also recover correctly after an extension cold start. #44
Fixed the Command Bar being hidden or removed when reader extensions such as SimpRead hide or replace the page body. #42
Improved shortcut opening and result responsiveness with many tabs by reusing the tab cache, deferring below-the-fold rows and theme work, and reducing background render batches while pages load, cutting suggestion delays, blank frames, and animation stutter. #41
Fixed a quick Tab Switcher shortcut release during extension cold start sometimes failing to confirm the current selection.
Fixed unstable search-action ordering when autocomplete is preferred; the exact search action now stays directly after the primary result.
Improved the clarity of New Tab search-result panel borders in both light and dark themes.
Bug Fixes (2)
Features (2)
Added a Dither wallpaper filter. Halftone and ASCII filters can now sample either wallpaper shadows or highlights while preserving the source colors, giving dot and character effects more flexible styling.
Improved search results across New Tab and the Command Bar: brand and site queries prioritize better representative pages, reduce repetitive deep results from the same site family, retain matching open tabs, and present cleaner URLs with clearer webpage and search-suggestion grouping.
Bug Fixes (2)
Reduced the time to first Command Bar results and improved shortcut opening, page startup, shortcut hover, and drag responsiveness by batching large open-tab result sets, consolidating New Tab and Settings startup reads, and removing paint-heavy animation work.
Fixed New Tab’s top input corners changing when search results appear and bookmark cascade drags falling back to the regular pointer cursor.
改進 New Tab 首屏的主題、壁紙和特效準備流程,減少頁面打開時的閃爍,並提升自動聚焦恢復的穩定性。
Features (3)
Added an optional “Minimal mode” under Settings > Appearance. It gives New Tab and the webpage Command Bar a cleaner Arc-inspired layout by hiding query highlights, source badges, and extra action prompts while tightening URL and result spacing. Based on @JordanTranchina’s proposal—thanks for the contribution. #39
Refined search results across New Tab and the webpage Command Bar with clearer action labels, more legible themed highlights and source information, tighter copy/delete controls, and smoother corner continuity between panels and rows.
Upgraded the Selection Quick Actions toolbar with a sharper Lumno vector mark and improved material and corner rendering in light and dark modes.
Bug Fixes (1)
Improved New Tab’s first-paint theme, wallpaper, and effect readiness to reduce opening flashes and make automatic focus recovery more reliable.
Fixed Selection Quick Actions tab-group names not following Lumno’s UI language; English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese now use localized names.
Added “Open in new tab group” for bookmark folders. After confirmation, bookmarks from the folder and its subfolders open together in one tab group.
Added a “Maximum visible results” setting, adjustable from 5–10 and shared by New Tab and the webpage command bar. Open-tab results remain complete inside a height-limited, scrollable viewport.
Added an “Adapt theme colors to each webpage” setting. The webpage command bar can follow the current page’s light or dark appearance, or use system-only, fixed light, or fixed dark behavior when adaptation is disabled.
Added the “Single-press Command to show number jump” Labs experiment. When enabled, pressing Command/Ctrl once reveals number badges for direct result selection. It is off by default.
Added Mac keyboard navigation as a Labs experiment. On macOS, Ctrl+N / Ctrl+P selects the next / previous result in New Tab and the webpage command bar. It is off by default. This feature was proposed by @wanghanzhen. Thanks for the contribution.
Updated New Tab settings: input auto-focus is now off by default, bookmark rows and items per row use sliders, and the rendered layout still adapts to the available width.
Bug Fixes (3)
Fixed custom Tab Switcher shortcuts occasionally failing to complete the switch when the modifier key was released, especially immediately after an extension reload or panel startup.
Fixed page-specific favicons on sites such as X potentially polluting the host-wide favicon cache with one page’s avatar.
Improved search stability across New Tab and the webpage command bar, reducing result flashes, size jumps, and stale-result overwrites during direct URL entry, mixed local and remote suggestions, fast opening, or search-mode transitions.
Added an “Automatically focus input” toggle. It is enabled by default, can be turned off from the Appearance panel in the bottom-right corner of New Tab, and syncs across devices through Chrome Sync.
Optimized the Tab Switcher startup path for faster first-time opening and repeated switching. Thumbnail refreshes no longer block the interface from appearing.
Refined the Focus Search panel’s entrance motion for a clearer, more natural transition.
Bug Fixes (2)
Fixed unnecessary extension-page navigation after input auto-focus was disabled. New tabs now use chrome://newtab directly without automatically taking input focus.
Improved Tab Switcher runtime messaging and fallback behavior, reducing response delays after extension updates, page-state changes, or repeated shortcut activations.
Milestone update: The New Tab page now automatically focuses the search input, so you can start typing and searching the moment it opens—an important milestone toward a more natural, efficient Lumno experience.
Added Selection Quick Actions. Enable them in Settings to ask, translate, explain, summarize, research, or calculate selected webpage text, with actions suggested from the selection itself.
Refined the selection toolbar into a more compact, layered interface with configurable AI provider, icon style, and trigger style.
Unified bundled icons for site-search providers, improving recognizability and loading reliability across search entries.
Expanded Chrome Sync coverage so everyday settings stay more complete and reliable across devices.
Improved loading performance for New Tab and the focused search input, reducing startup delays and visual flashes.
Bug Fixes (4)
Fixed inaccurate selection-action targeting on some pages and stale asynchronous responses overwriting the latest state.
Fixed unstable focus-ring and interaction states in the search input.
Improved account and sync recovery, restored Chrome Sync settings synchronization, and preserved state after language changes.
Improved edge positioning and click feedback for the selection toolbar to prevent interference from page styles.
Completed the React migration for the Command Bar, New Tab, Settings, and Onboarding pages, and removed the legacy UI renderer fallbacks.
Search scope menus now support scope filtering, double-Tab confirmation, Backspace navigation, and site-search icons, with improved keyboard, IME, and Slash Command interactions.
Added four New Tab wallpapers: Impressionist Orchard, Pointillist Lakeside, 3D Observatory, and Shanshui Bamboo Bridge.
Added high-resolution favicon resolution, page-specific favicon candidates, and local caching for shortcuts.
Added bundled local artwork for site-search providers, including PNG icons, with documented icon sources.
Added a controlled Codex debugging bridge for inspecting and operating extension pages and interaction surfaces.
Improved responsive New Tab layouts by reusing loaded data during window resizing and smoothly moving the search box, shortcuts, bookmarks, and recent-site sections.
Bug Fixes (6)
Fixed page-specific favicons being overridden by stale host-level caches, and improved concurrent cache writes, policy invalidation, and shortcut-icon cleanup.
Fixed bundled site-search PNG icons not being packaged or declared as web-accessible resources.
Improved scope-prefix transitions, size changes, and text contrast for better readability in light and dark themes.
Fixed flashes and duplicate reloads in the Recent Sites section while resizing the New Tab window.
Unified the visual treatment of toasts, cursor tooltips, site-search icons, and page transitions, and added the corresponding localized copy.
Expanded regression coverage for manifest resources, search scopes, shortcut favicons, layout animations, the debugging bridge, and store packaging.
